Showing Support to Fallen Soldier

The Fire Service came together today to honor Fallen Sailor coming home today. The body of Navy Petty Second Class Officer Logan Palmer arrived in St. Louis today at Lambert International Airport and was transported with escorts to Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home in Decatur. Palmer was tragically killed while aboard the USS John McCain that was struck by an Oil Tanker near Singapore.

The show of support was overwhelming!

Firefighters were privileged to be part of Bill Devine's 90th Birthday Party. The party was held at Monicals Pizza with family and friends. Bill was excited to take a ride in his old seat of a Clinton fire engine.
Firefighter spent all day with employee's of Servpro and First Christian Church accepting donations for the recovery of Hurricane Harvey. The community showed great support for the event tripling the amount of goods that was expected.

To better the City's ISO (Insurance Service Office) rating and be more pre-pared for emergencies the Clinton Fire Department is developing pre-incident plans for all commercial properties. The last Wednesday of every month firefighters are also participating in facility visits.

Carle Hospital Trauma Level 1 provided Agriculture Trauma Training at Clinton Fire Department on Wednesday. Firefighters reviewed case reviews, care of a trauma patient and then participated in a table top exercise.

On August 7th the City of Clinton made a unanimous decision to appoint Jeff Hoke as Fire Chief. Jeff brings 30 years of experience to the department. Jeff's goals are to grow the service and personnel into a forward direction.
