Congratulations to Lt. Chris Reddington and his wife Tara on their wedding! The City of Clinton was flattered that their wish was to have the special day in Clinton Fire Station #1!
The 50th Annual Apple and Pork Festival was a huge success accounting for over 100,000 people. Most every booth sold out of supplies and there was no major accidents to report. The Fire Department was ready to respond equipping 3 ATV type response vehicles to our fleet of equipment.

Firefighters welcomed retired Decatur Fire Marshal David Rozanski to Clinton to train on fire's in a high rise. Firefighters layed hose, studied sprinkler systems and standpipes, and worked on laddering to the building.

Clinton High School officials thanked the Clinton Firefighters for quickly extinguishing a blaze in there junior high kitchen two weeks ago. School officials thanked the firefighters in jester of making them cookies for the evening training.

Clinton Fire Department was recipient to a Illinois Nuclear Regulatory Grant hosted by Illinois Emergency Management Agency. The grant paid 100% of a needed radio upgrade to the Clinton Fire Station that totaled over $17,000 dollars.

Clinton Firefighters attended training in Champaign at the University of Illinois Fire Service Institute. Firefighters worked in teams to extinguish fires purposely set in training building's taught by staff members of IFSI.

Firefighters went to Weldon Springs to assist in a Illinois Boy Scouts fire brigade drill. Firefighters showed the boys how the men worked to extinguish a fire years ago only by using buckets and teamwork.

Firefighters of the Clinton Fire Department attended training hosted by MABAS Division 46, Illinois Fire Service Institute and the Harristown Fire Department. The training was held on the west side of Decatur and taught by Chris King, a firefighter on Chicago Squad 1.

Seven Firefighters from Clinton attended FDIC (Fire Department Instructors Conference) in Indianapolis, Indiana. Firefighters learned the newest techniques of firefighting and rescue. The conference was attended by 46,000 firefighters this year making it again the worlds largest.

Guardian of the Children Motorcycle Club Blessing of the Bikes was held on Clinton's Mr. Lincoln Square. Firefighters assisted in the event by assisting Guardians raise the American Flag with Tower Ladder 3.
